Check out the new NCAA proposal that is calling for a new league for colleges that can afford to join. In this league the school would be required to pay ALL student athletes a minimum of $30K per year for at least half of its athletes.
Assuming Clemson has around 900 student athletes, that would mean Clemson would have to pony up $13,500,000 annually (450 athletes x $30K). This money would be held in trust until the student athlete graduated or left the university. This money is above and beyond any additional NIL deals the each student athlete gets. There would be no cap on potential compensation for any student athlete.
This is literally a pay for play model for all student athletes.
