Will he be their interim head coach later this year if/when they fire Beamer?--He won 41 games at Georgia State although he lost 44.

Shawn Elliott is a decent coach if he has the right players. In 2015, whenever he replaced Coach Spurrier, he was handed a very beleaguered roster that Clemson put an epic beatdown on. However, he does have a great coaching philosophy and is able to get a team to buy in and believe. Not that it's hard to do in South Carolina's program because they have tons of delusional fans and players alike that believe they're a contender for the National Championship every season.

He's local, you may even say chicken-hearted. Never moved his family out of Cootlumbia when he took the job in Atlanta. Coots get a coach with exposure to Georgia High Schools and he gets into the SEC before they and B1G remove themselves from NCAA. He's positioned himself behind a coach that may be let go and he could step into being a HC in the SEC. If he shows an inkling of improvement with the coots he'll try to move elsewhere in the SEC/B1G. I don't know if he'll jump to TE coach to HC but I could see a move to OC and then HC.

Making $24 million in 4 years is a good gig. In this crazy NIL environment, it’s almost enough incentive to retire when he’s eventually fired.

Yes, being brought in to keep players in place when Beamer fired. Will become the new O Line coach when Beamer let go.
