Now there’s not any real pressure to do anything. Everybody will forget about this in a couple days because nobody really cares that much about Clemson basketball.

I disagree. A 1st round exit from the NIT as a top seed is bad. Really, really bad. This is the hallmark of a CBB-coached team. Sort of explains the head scratching losses to Loyola, the coots and Louisville to some degree.

Neff committing to CBB for another year was a mistake. It would be good for both parties to get a change in scenery.

you make a good point. this will drag out a little but maybe see something in a week or so. Coach Brownell might see this wont be pretty and both parties agree to part ways. sort of similar to Brey leaving Notre Dame...

Maybe I'm being optimistic, but I think this 1st round exit from the NIT might be a blessing in disguise. Maybe it HAS opened Neff's eyes a bit. We can only hope.

If he doesn't get an extension and raise, he really stands to lose money if he stays another year and then is terminated at the end of next year.

Not sure financial concerns factor into his decision but if they do, he would be better served to step down now and negotiate something in his favor.

This is a just a bizarre situation reminiscent of the FB team sticking with DJ all season without making a change.
