My take on 2014 QB is that.......

Stoudt will probably start the season but that Kelly will take over as starter before the 4th game or so if he's competing closely with Stoudt. No disrepect meant to Stoudt, but I can't see the coaching staff putting total effort into developing him since he's going to be a senior - would seem to pay off better to develop Kelly.
Agree with others that Watson will need a redshirt year to bulk up and learn the system.

And a baller.
They will go with a 1A 1B split scenario as they are both too good to sit on the sideline.

The staff will have to develop a stronger running game via the running backs because Stoudt is more suited to being in the pocket.

That is very true. The Gamecock Coach has never been too committed to one QB.

Chad Kelly is Chad Morris' first QB recruit. That's the guy Dabo and CM wanted to run this offense. This staff is not about to spend another year waiting on a custom fit QB.
No dumping on Cole, he's a pocket passer from helll.

CM's run-option QB style better than Stoudt - Stoudt looks to be a solid passer but also looks to have lead feet.

Watson is the future. He will start if its even close with Stoudt and Kelly. I watched him play Friday night. He's cut from the same mold as Winston. He's a cut above the others. Why wait a year if he's ready. These kids don't come around often. He was a man among boys. The real deal.

Whatever quarterback that gives us the best chance of winning should start. It should be an open competition at the start of spring practice. Just my thoughts. Go Clemson....... Fight Big Cat

Everybody pump your brakes on this Kelly thing here. The guy played the last minutes of a game that was out of hand against backups of a team whose starters did not put up much of a fight. How about we wait until spring and have all three guys fight it out? I think Stoudt being a senior will go in as the starter in spring and Watson will press Kelly for 2nd string. Watson is a prime prospect from talent rich Georgia, Kelly is from upstate NY not sure what the level of competition is up there so let's enjoy the competition coming up in the spring.

What about after next year?

I think Kelly will win the job next year at some point early in the season. Stoudt is good but Tajh really messed up his play time this year by coming back, not saying Cole is better than Tajh but he was probably thinking this was going to be his year. The upside with Kelly is much greater than with Stoudt and he's Morris' guy. My real question is what will happen after next year. They can bide one year with Watson with a redshirt but after that the kid is gonna want to ball and I think if he is at least equal with Kelly at the time you've got to start him over Kelly. I don't think it will help with future recruiting to have the #1 recruit and he have to wait three years to see a starting role if he is talented enough to be on the field. That would have been ok in the past put with Johnny Football and Winston seeing playing time as redshirt freshmen and being heisman winners/contenders any top rated QB is going to be coming in thinking he needs to be on the filed right away.
