I have to agree with where you're heading here. Not sure who has to step down to be able to get him in (maybe Pearman)? Or one of the offensive specialty coaches moves on??

In place of who?

There is a full staff

Didn't the NCAA allow some new coaching slots for 2023 ? Scott said he has no plans to coach in in 2023.

“No plans to coach” means a nice way to say
“none of your business right now…we’ll announce when there’s something to announce. Stop asking me.”

when is the last time Dabo demoted or let go a coach? It's been a while. I really wish we could upgrade but I don't know if Dabo has it in him to make these kind of changes at this point.

firing inept, incompetent assistant coaches? If that is true then he shouldn't be here either.

I don't believe that. I don't believe Dabo has lost it like that. Watching intently to see how he responds to the challenges Clemson Football currently faces.

As much as it would hurt, I'd laff my a$S off to see what some of you would say if Saban retired and Dabo went to Bama.

My theory is Dabo is setting Jeff up to be the next head coach when he leaves.

Dabo is not going AL. You think Clemson fans are being tuff on him? Those fans would crucify him if he fielded teams like we have the last two seasons. I know we just won an ACC title but as evidenced by the two semi games yesterday we are along from competing at that level.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, but I do have concerns that Dabo is incapable of recognizing

when his friends are not doing a good job.

This is also based on the fact that he has made the questionable hires he has the last few years.

Recognizing your blind spots is one of the hardest elements to master for all leaders.

I agree. It would also be extremely difficult to fire one of your best friends imo

Dabo needs help. Good ceo and recruiter but not a great coach himself. Would love to see Brad Scott take over football operations and Jeff take over as Co Off cord or off. cord. and be in charge of recruiting. It was Street that recruited DJ.

Thoughts on Chad Morris returning ??

Jan 1, 2023, 4:21 PM

It was too little too late, but Scott hired his former Clemson OC boss as his USF OC this year.

I would be surprised if Dabo and Jeff do not discuss Chad's capabilities, availability and fit at Clemson. Chad brought in DW4.

Scott and Morris as co-OC's would not hurt my feelings, but Dabo or Jeff may have their reasons to nix that approach, Chad may have other options (UVA, etc.), and I recognize some of Tiger fanbase is not pro-Chad.

Any thoughts?

Chad Morris would be a huge upgrade over Streeter.***

Yep - and join the Clemson staff for the 2024 season.

He's moved back to "the upstate" <img border=">"> .

I don't blame him. He's been through a lot, had a ton of stress, but he's got $$$. So he can take a year off, chill and be a family man, decompress and enjoy life while he ponders his options. Or, I wouldn't be surprised if he already has a deal locked in with Dabo to come on board as an assistant when he's ready, barring a better head coaching job, but that's not likely at this point. I think the fact that he moved back to "the upstate" is very telling.

I love Jeff. He was a light at the end of the Chad Morris tunnel for me. He could get the most out of what he had to work with.

If there's a change to our team structure and personnel I hope Jeff as Asst. HC is that change.

Because he impressed us so much at USF ?
