to one of her friend’s house yesterday to watch the GT-Clemson game, so there was a group of the women sort of watching the game, and the husbands intently watching the game.
One of the wives asked about something that one of the broadcast team had said, and I offhandedly said, “That was the color commentator.”
They all looked at me like I had 3 heads. I realized a couple of things at that moment: the first was they thought I had said something completely different, and second, regardless of the sheer number of football games that they had watched over the years, none of them knew that there are typically two announcers for a game:
1. The play by play guy
2. The color guy
This made for a pretty funny moment, and I’m still not sure a couple of them believed me, lol.
