Ok so thanks to out win over #50 Miami (to add to our wins over #42 SMU and #65 Georgia Southern) we moved up to #60 in the ITA rankings on Tuesday. Full rankings link - > https://colleges.wearecollegetennis.com/rankings?gender=M&divisionType=DIV1&matchFormat=TEAM&date=2024-04-02

We have four matches left in the regular season.

@ #54 Notre Dame tomorrow
@ #42 Louisville on Sunday
vs #2 Virginia next Friday
vs #58 Virginia Tech next Sunday

If we can win 3 of the 4 (assuming an L to UVA) we will creep up to around #45 in the rankings which would be getting close to the NCAA tournament bubble which is typically around 42-46 or so, leaving us likely needing one win the ACC tournament to get in. Anything less than winning 3 of 4 will probably not give enough ranking boost to get us close.

ND and VT are certainly winnable with VT at home being a should win. Louisville will be tougher as they beat us earlier this season already 6-1, (but it was without us having our #3 Vukadin in the lineup).

Tigers in the ITA singles/doubles rankings:

#80 Wissam Abderrahman - If the Freshman can get one more good ranking win he could possibly move up into the top 64, which is what is needed to make the NCAA individual tournament. We haven't had a player compete in that since 2015.

#108 Ryuhei Azuma

#69 in doubles Noa Vukadin/Max Smith

Things are definitely trending in the right direction. Is there anything in tennis like the bball nit tournament if we don't get in?

So I would think (obviously beating the 3 teams) that we need to pull for ND, va tech, Louisville to win all their matches except against us. Just thinking in terms of bball.

Anyway, thanks for the updates. And the reminder that we can watch the match tomorrow.

because the system rewards wins more than in punishes losses. It has helped us that SMU was done well since we beat them and that Georgia Southern has managed to get back into the top 75. It would good for us if VTech or Notre Dame could upset #35 Georgia Tech (our travel partner who they will both also play) and help their own ranking while we also defeat them.
