Maybe he was offering a top QB $2 mil in a roundabout way? Maybe $6-7 mil if they can win?

Silly, but hilarious. If I was a devious coach I would try to spread as much crazy misinformation as possible to drive everyone to spend too much money. Seems like a coach that meddles deep in the transfer portal game would make some enemies quick when they fail to win win a roster an influential booster helped pay for.
