I'm not saying it won't happen or shouldn't but:

Is he tired of spending time with his family? Was there another issue that led to him stepping down?

This is why it makes sense, because Dabo has a family first culture with his staff. It’s night and day from UGA where he left. And Luke entertained ND last year before ultimately turning them down. So he’s still engaged.

That would be a great hire, on par with hiring BV in terms of possible impact. ML can coach OL and he can recruit. He built that OL at UGA and that's what we need. Now, he came from Ole Miss and UGA and the back story was that he might have been a bit dirty and was somewhat of a sacrificial lamb at UGA BUT lets keep in mind that all the things that were "dirty" in 2019 are totally legal now. He's intense though so, if we hire him, expect some of that current OL to pack up and leave but the ones that stay and the ones he brings in, will be whole helluva better than anything we've had in a while.

That's a great point. Why would timing be sensitive for a retired coach? If Hood's right, it is someone whose team is still playing.

Timing could also have to do with with coaches hitting the recruiting trail
