I am also still very angry about the masks. They almost ruined my life. This one time I had to wear one to go in and get some groceries. It was he'll. I barely survived. I relate to people who fought in Vietnam and were wounded. I am just glad I am alive to tell future generations of the misery I survived. Glad you made it as well Tom. You're not alone.

Again, I ask where are the CDC American Death numbers??? They were always posted like april/may for the previous year but they are still running 2020 estimates. Why????Where are they
Still only have this
If Covid was not a scam we would of tons of charts but it DOES NOT FIT their narrative
Fact is 2020 was flat and 2021 is higher and 2022 even higher and so on - Deaths are up from vaxes not down

Forced mask wearing was never about the "science", it was about compliance. It's pretty telling how quickly presumably intelligent people threw common sense out of the window when they were told to do so and to blindly comply.
Heck if the CDC told them tomorrow that they needed to start hopping on one leg everywhere they went, in order to stop the spread, they would all start proudly doing so while calling anyone who didn't a selfish, fascist, grandmother killer who clearly knows nothing about "science".

Certain masks did cut down on the transmition. Anyway, th masks were no big deal. Only absolute *ussies cried about having to wear one while everything was being figured out. What everyone should agree upon though is that those long lockdowns were absolute BS and a total disaster.

especially in private businesses.
But with that said, the line about mask requirements being "more about compliance" is unfounded gibberish. Who, specifically, wanted compliance? And was everyone, from local business owners, to city councils, to state-level administrators and so on...all on board to force compliance?
And even if you believe all of that...to what end?

Masks did NOT work for COVID 19 but the liberals posting on this subject will not discuss that. Comments like wearing a mask was so awful and same as fighting in a war has nothing to do with that fact.

Bullsh!t.
This is exactly a huge part of why I broke hard with the GOP and will remain independent henceforth. You MAGA's - and Good God you're a detestable lot, you really are - keep braying about what your "rights" are. Real Americans - and real men - understand that along with rights come responsibilities.
That word just does not seem to be on your hard drive. My guess is, it never really was.
The core of genuine conservatism is a sense of responsibility towards your fellow man, and the notion that you'll do the right thing not because the rules demand it but because, well, it's the right thing and that actually matters. The Party of Reagan started with the notion that we were the Good Guys, and smaller government and less regulation in no way relieved an individual of those responsibilities. In fact Reaganites - and we're admittedly a dying breed - think the opposite, that the more freedom you get, the more important doing the right thing gets. But MAGA is a pack of rude, boorish, nihilistic sociopaths who think being a rude selfish a$$hole is a virtue.
It is not, and has never been, a virtue. It also isn't "conservative". That's nihilism, and there's a profound difference. If you don't know the word - and it's obvious you don't - look it up. Because it describes MAGA to a "T".
And no, you do not have the "right" to kill some little old lady down the street because you're too lazy or too callous to wear the mask that might have protected her. Your rights stop where her nose begins. And COVID has killed 1.1 million people in America.
I'm sorry that created an inconvenience for you. I really am.

understand. Maybe.
Ok, so say there are 1 million illegal aliens, fentanyl traffickers, child sex traffickers, prostitutes, cartel kingpins, and rapists in Mexico, all positioned along a spot in the US border waiting to enter the United States illegally and do their damage.
Now you have two options. Option one is to do nothing, and they all flow into the US freely, and do their damage. The other option is to build a wall, a wall that keeps 98% of them from entering, but is not perfect and allows 20,000 to somehow sneak through.
So would you mandate a wall being built? Would the wall be a useful thing to keep 980,000 vile criminals out, while only allowing 20,000 to slip through? Or since it's not a perfect solution, do you just ####can the whole idea and allow unrestricted entry?
I'll wang up and listen.

> The other option is to build a wall, a wall that keeps 98% of them from entering,
Yeah, this claim is doing a lot of work here. Show me where it would keep that many out. We do have a partial wall, and they just scale it without issue.
I'm not convinced Trump's border wall was about anything other than riling you guys up.
When a central Pennsylvanian republican is all worked up about the southern border, you know how well it works, too.

In the world we live in, mask mandates allowed just about anything that covered your face—bandanas, Lycra neck gaiters, cheap ear loop masks. Those filter from 10-30% of the droplets that cause the virus. So if 100 virus-infected droplets are heading towards your face, 70-90 of those droplets are making it through.
It’s like saying that 1,000,000 murderers are coming from Mexico, and all of them are out to kill you in clusters of 10. In response we are going to require that every man, woman, and child go stand on the border with homemade nets so we can snag 1-3 of those murders at a time if we encounter a cluster of them, nevermind 7-9 of them are ducking our net and have knives raised.

Please God not this again.
No, a loose mask doesn't really protect you from incoming droplets because you're breathing in, and if the air has droplets containing the virus you'll breath the majority of those too.
What it does do is prevent you from expelling the majority of your droplets. In a nutshell: your mask protects me. My mask protects you.
This is not a hard concept. And surgical masks and N95 masks are far more effective.
I will agree our pandemic response was disorganized, incoherent, and scattershot. Which is exactly why we need to put our heads together now and come up with a more coherent - and universal - national response that can scale up or down based on changing information...because the defining attribute of any new pandemic is, we don't know how severe a particular virus is or how exactly it spreads in the beginning. And this will not be the last one. Even if this one was an accident or a lab leak, the next one likely won't be. And we're entering an edge where any lunatic with a protein synthesizer could potentially unleash the Black Death Redux out of their garage printer. If we don't figure this out, at some point we're going to start dropping like flies.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9947910/Effectiveness of N95 Mask in Preventing COVID-19 Transmission N95 mask has emerged as a potential measure to mitigate the airborne transmission of respiratory disease such as COVID-19. If you’re breathing out 10 virus infected droplets, it’s stopping 1-3 of them at most, with the masks we were allowing in the name of pandemic performance art.
You can cite N95 studies all you want but maybe 5% of the people you saw in any public setting were wearing them.
With the plethora of studies now showing the general ineffectiveness of masks as we handled it, this seems like a weird hill to still be dying on.

If walls didn't work the left wouldn't throw a hissy fit any time building one was mentioned. Would it alleviate the entire problem of illegal immigration? Of course not, but it would definitely have an impact which is why Biden would rather sell off the materials that have already been purchased for pennies on the dollar than to go ahead and put them to good use.

Since it was all a hoax, of course masks were silly. Isn't that your take Tom? COVID was a total hoax. Putin, Trump, Xi and all the world leaders along with morticians, rank and file doctors and nurses all were in on this elaborate hoax and achieved their goal--which was what?
The mask's primary usefulness was lessening the expulsion of the virus from those that were infected and perhaps not even aware. High quality N95 masks were fairly effective in protecting health care workers constantly exposed to those with the virus.
Standard surgical masks and cloth masks were for the most part useless.
Those that complied with mask wearing are now mindless robots awaiting spontaneous combustion which was the goal of the global elites to begin with?
Masks were annoying, but most of us are over it. You do you brother.

Masks had a positive effect.
Now, did we take it too far? Yes. People didn't need to wear them outdoors, or double up on them, or be as militant with kids with them, etc.
Is it possible there were sound COVID prevention methods while there were also some ridiculous ones? Yes, those two can both exist.

Let me ask you a question and I promise I’m not looking for a debate. I don’t care to debate Covid any longer. Do you know anyone who was religious about the mask wearing during Covid who did not eventually get Covid? I don’t know a single one. Just curious.

I do.
I also know people who weren't religious at all about it, like myself in many cases, and never got it. I don't think that really tells us much; that's just anecdotal.

The only thing they left in was quotes where they could make the "peaceful" sound sarcastic. They omitted several statements that were more directly telling people to stay within the rules.
