Has anyone ever replaced the DLP chip in a TV?

Apr 22, 2013, 3:38 PM

My TV has the white spots from the DLP chip going out. I can get the chip for around 200 bucks. I was wondering if it was worth doing it myself for having somebody else do it.

Same here, but it was more like three years ago.

They finally caught the drift that their DLP was a POS and (surprisingly) owned up.

I've never owned a Samnsung product that didn't fail within a couple years for no apparent reason. I'm talking microwaves, cell phones, televisions... everything I've bought from them has bricked.

issue with the DLP chips from that time. It wasn't limited to Samsung, but I had a Samsung chip replaced last month.

Best bet is to search for details online and try to contact manufacturer and see what they'll do.
