Managing Expectations The Rest Of The Way!

Dabo and the coaching staff have their work cut out for the rest of the season.
Many of the Draft eligible players from other teams across the land; when it's clear the team isn't playing for any type of championship have basically shut it down. Which is basically the last thing they should do.
Getting the best film possible is what needs to happen.

Will the coaching staff push even more players getting playing time? I.E., young players getting time at critical moments.

All which leads me to this: Keeping the Tigers 2023 football season in the right perspective. At this point in our history, anything short of Championships is a disappointing season! We can all agree on that.
I have been around long enough to know about the seasons "we just wanted to get bowl eligible" and took that as a win if we made the Independence Bowl.
Can people go back to that? No happily. I can't to be honest.
But, if I have to fellow Tigers fans, I will. I will because, those low-tier bowl games you barely get in are going to set the foundation for future success.

We won't reach a couple of goals this season and that's clear! But a decent bowl game and win would be great at this point!

Keeping the team and the fans in the right mindset will be interesting to see to me. As I said, "from watching as a kid when the Tigers won it all in 1981 to the most recent ones"! I can tell you many fans are just here for the good times!
I am here regardless. I own it. I take whatever trash folks want to talk about us; but I won't waver an inch.
I have seen this football program lift that National Championship trophy 3 times during my life. There are many people who have never and "will never" see their team win it all once; let alone 3 times!

Times like this make the Championship years that much sweeter! And is why as someone who won't fade because we aren't ranked. Aren't looked as dominant. Aren't the talk of the sport. Is why when we do make it back and I am around (God Willing) - "it will be so sweet and rewarding"!
I am not worried about Clemson Tigers football. We will figure it out.

Great post. While disappointed with the loss saturday, I was impressed with our play on both sides of the ball. I think the rest of the ACC took notice of two strong teams playing very good football.

A lot can happen from here on out. If we win out (and that's a big IF), I say we might still be in the ACC hunt. Someone this morning said Duke is in great shape, but they still have to play FL St (at FL St), NC St, and NC (at UNC).

We are getting better, and I'm not convinced we'll miss the ACCCG. I'd love to get another shot at the Seminoles with about 8 more games of this offense growing right in front of our eyes.

Go Tigers!

Thanks Civil92.

I love how you put it: "While disappointed with the loss Saturday"! That part.

Better days are ahead for Clemson football.
When I hear people use the term, "PUMPER" I envision folks who probably would make terrible fighting position mates! Is it "pumping" to go; "we can do this"! I believe if you cover that side of fire and I cover this side and we are both efficient - "we will make it out of this situation"! I don't think so.
Would you want the person instead going, "we can't do this"! "Never going to work, we are dead, let's just not even try"! No you wouldn't.

I said it several times prior to 2015 National Championship game appearance; where it took a timely onside kick and no Mike Williams(goal post) to beat us, "better days are ahead for Clemson football"! And, I am saying it now!
Mind you, that was in the midst of the Spurrier era in Columbia and their little run. I was a "Pumper" I guess by saying "There Are Better Days Ahead For Clemson Football"!

Because there is!
