Yeah, pretty sure he was mad at Toney. Tony Romo said the receivers were messing up and pointed that play being called back as an example.

Apparently in the NFL when you’re offsides, they give you a warning first and then the next time it’s a penalty in this case they’re claiming the officials did not give them a warning, and it was a penalty for the first one.

I read some direct quotes from the officials. Some latitude (warning) is given if it is close, but if the foot is blocking the view of the ball down the line it will be called every time (or at least this got said it would). Apparently this was the case.

I loved watching the chiefs lose again . Kelce always acts like a punk and Mahomes acted like a child on the sideline at the end of the game screaming at the refs when he knows good and well that his team has benefited greatly from favorable calls .

It appeared he was aiming his rant at one of the officials on the sidelines. Probably the one who called the offsides. Replay showed it was the correct call. I agree, I have never seen him blow a gasket like that. He has never been in this position before by losing games. He did not handle it well.

It absolutely was the correct call and I'm fairly certain as you stated, the refs were the target of his rant. Would I be pissed if my team just pulled off an incredible play and it got called back ? Sure but it was clear as day Toney was standing in the neutral zone and Mahomes acted like a child

When the Chiefs do lose, typically Mahomes is rather subdued. As a result, stupid people think winning has softened him and he doesn’t care as much. Also, in general he doesn’t have to get fired up to influence the team.
In this case, I think he was in control and knew what he was doing. The even keeled approach isn’t working and so we see the other side. Perhaps forced or perhaps real.
Anyway, I didn’t find much LOL to it.
Glad the Bills won though.

I just watched an interview with an official who said this was hardly ever called in the past but this is the first year where they emphasized calling it more. He said it was called twice last year and once in 2021. He said so far this year it has been called 12 times.
That might have fed into some of the post-game frustration.

Yea just heard their interviews and Reid and Mahomes act like the ref should have not thrown the flag. Reid calling it an embarrassment. So to get this straight a man can line up offsides but you should pick that flag up if there is a great play on the other end of it.
Lost a lot of respect for Mahomes. Love a great competitor but stupid and drama I try to avoid.

I despise Mahomes and the chiefs, but he had a right to be pissed. I mean, how dumb do you have to be to line up offsides, staring down the LOS from the wideout position. Toney is dumb as a bag of hammers.

The flip side is that if the Chiefs had managed to score in the first quarter, it probably would not have come down to a fourth quarter flag. Should Patrick mostly be mad at Patrick?
