I don't remember the first name right now, but the guy was from Greenwood and last name was Sutherland. It was in the late 60's or 1970's, I think.

In the late 1980's, we had a guy named Rod mitchell from Cheraw. Lettered in hoops a couple times. Believed he actually came in on a football ship. He was listed at 6-9 i think.

As for the very tall defensive ends when they throw their hands up when the opposing QB throws the ball will be interesting the see how many batted down throws they will log. Probably will be a lot of side arm passing.

I really liked the article David. I enjoyed the stories and facts about the players. We have got some great guys coming in. We need those tall DE to swat down passes from opposing quarterbacks.

Vance Hammond, Dorman Grad, was DLL and jersey #90 and was 6’7” or so played for Danny Ford, 1987-90.

The biggest takeaway for me was how Dabo gets how special his platform is yet stays humble. Taking time to pose for photos with those kids tells you everything you need to know about Dabo. He isn’t too big to take a minute to make someone’s day. Saban seems like the type who can’t be bothered to make someone’s day.
