Originally, they gave him 12, and the coaches overheard him on the phone, "Mama, I'm gone be #21!" Fearing a repeat episode in front of cameras, they swiftly gave him #8.

Considering many are feeling Clemson's 2016 D looks better than where Clemson's 2015 D was same time last year, and Jackson's strength is his running game:

Baker Mayfield (-15 rush yds vs Clemson's D, 0 TD's)
Justin Thomas (3 yds vs Clemson's D)
Marquise Williams (81 yds vs Clemson's D...best one the entire year and still didn't break 100 yds, only 1 TD rushing)
