Littlejohn is still a good place to watch a basketball game

But it used to be truly something special. There were a number of ACC games back in the early 80's where fans would have to sit in the aisles, because they ran out of seats. Of course we had mega superstars to watch play like Michael Jordan, James Worthy, Ralph Sampson, Mike Geminski, and Len Bias. There were also Clemson superstars to watch as well like Larry Nance, Billy Williams, and Vincent Hamilton. Littlejohn was a great environment to watch a basketball game back in the day. There was no piped in music (the pep band took care of that), no video board to watch replays, and no promotional stuff (except for maybe Bojangles). It was about basketball plain and simple.
What other greats visited or played for Clemson in that time period?
Go Tigers!!! Beat VT!!!

and my favorite "Jumpin' Murray Jarmin" were great Tigers in the early 80s. Plus, there were a ton of ACC players that visited Littlejohn to play...Thurl Bailey, Sidney Lowe and Derrick Whittenburg of NC State made up a terrific team. I won't even name the great Dook or UNC players because I disliked them too much to honor them by posting their names.

Which then brings in better players. The teams back then would put a serious whooping on the teams today. Good times!

The ads at Clemson sporting events are ridiculous.

Seeing a game at Notre Dame really puts that into perspective.

If we're going back with Skip Wise, then you've got to include Tree Rollins and Stan Rome.

as well. Also will never forget Chris Michael hitting a jumper to beat the tarholes. I was sitting against the back wall in the corner of littlejohn. Couldn't be any further away from the court. Up there where you could look over the wall and see the concourse below. Littlejohn went CRAZY!

David Thompson, Muggys Bogues, Tree Rollins, Dale Davis, Elden Campbell ... ACC ruled basketball from 70's to at least 2010.
