we lose. We will not be the best unless we do exactly what the best are doing. If we want to beat Bama and they oversign, then we better oversign.

1) I'm not a doomdayer when we lose. You can't take feelings you have with others and attach them to whomever you like. 2) This is a collegiate amateur sport. I want to win, but I also want to do what's in the best interest of collegiate amateur athletes. 3) I'm a Clemson fan and alumnus. I wan to win, but I think there's more than one way to represent the university well. 4) He is is a collegiate amateur athlete and therefore should be given all the bonuses entailed. If you want to pay him monetarily (scholarship doesn't count) and provide him health insurance over the long term, then you can treat him like a professional.

Oh, and by the way if I cared about winning so much I would watch NFL, you know the professional sports, remember these are student athletes such as still in school

Im on the other side of this argument. The kid cannot fulfill the scholarship due to his condition. The school then let him know they would not be able to help him out and give him a full scholly
We have a few on scholly right now that can never play a down of football. Which is great. I am happy for them, but at what point do you draw the line. The number will continue to grow. At some point you could have upwards of 8-10 on full scholarship (a ton of money our University will have to recoup along with offering the other athletic scholarship) so 8-10 plus another 8-10 for replacements. 20 scholarships
Im just saying you know where this could go. Just playing Devil's Advocate. There are two sides to the story. It said in the article Stoops had given some players in the past full scholarships. I guess at some point you have to draw the line.
Not saying I do not feel bad for the kids. I do. I also see the school's side of the story. For every situation like that you are doubling that scholarship money

accumulate 8-10 students on football scholarship who aren't playing football? That's 2 a year, every year.
Rescinding a scholarship based on a medical condition is disgusting. You offer a 17 year old kid a scholarship, you honor it. Don't kick him to the curb.

letting him play having had it for years prior. Welcome to America where if you can't run fast or pass block you have to earn a life like the rest of us.

on espn and it seems as if jr is looking for a handout. I think he has the mind to go do other things. Like perhaps coach. I don't really fault OU here, truthfully I don't care to be honest. He needs to look after his health though. I wonder if he will try to go elsewhere and play.
