Let’s play to win this year and stop playing not to lose

Aug 11, 2018, 3:48 PM

Everyone knows that we are LOADED on defense and that is beyond fantastic! But with all of this talent on offense this year, how about when we get a 14 point lead let’s not put the offense on cruise control. Keep your foot on the gas pedal this year Elliott/Scott and not look back. Yes, it is true that defense wins championships, but how about let the offense win some games this year where we don’t have to hold our breath as fans this year.

I coached for years on the high school level and also on the Jr college level as an OC and understand the concept of not being careless with the ball, but I also love throwing up big numbers on the scoreboard.

Wasn’t a fan of the “ole ball coach”, but one thing he said that I did like. “It’s not my fault if they can’t stop us”. I hope Elliott/Scott will have that mentality this year. Let the defense do what they do (a bunch of 3&outs) and the offense blow people out!!

Yeah, think that depends on who’s at QB. Dabo admitted that they did keep it safe last year because they wanted to limit offense mistakes as in int’s.

I agree totally, put a Tiger Paw on their throat and do not let them breathe. Last year it seemed 10-14 points up and we turtled on offense instead of just taking it to them and it almost bit us in the butt. Some games were way closer than they should have been due to turtling up.

espnxperts shame CU as playing weak schedule. As we play neighbor Furman labor Day weekend, while others go vs SEC powerhouses, yes we better run up the points, consider fans who drive 5 hrs rent motels for 1-2 nights food, travel, gas to see furman :(

Yeah...we only won a dozen games last year so definitely need to change it up

A juggernaut offense will get peoples' attention.

Seems like we have the depth and talent to get out there and really let kids play ball. If you got it, put it to work.
