do people bemoan purple? It's a FREAKIN' SCHOOL COLOR! It's really that simple. If you don't like purple, you must be a coot.

it has something to do with blue being the natural complement to orange(u of fla.)the true color complement to purple is yellow(LSU).these are facts,not merely opinion.it may also be that ken hatfield,an outsider, reintroduced the purple during his tenure.i've always thought that the
CU orange,which i love,clashes with the purple and being superstitious,have also always thought that the color change has been bad luck.that may be another reason as well that others don't like the purple.it's been a divisive issue for quite a while and will probably never be settled.

seems to me Blue and orange was the theme then. I prefer purple.

you also have to realize that there are many shades of purple,blue,and orange.some go well together and some clash.guess it all comes down to personal choice.

I am with you on that, though I think feeling differently does not make someone a coot. But yes, purple is one of the school colors. Strangely enough, white is not.
Increasingly, teams seem to be embracing edgy uni variations (agreed, some are hideous). I think that could appeal to some recruits. Personally, I would not care if they played in grass skirts if they win.

Don't see anything wrong with purple. It was an official school color when I went there in 1962 and still is as far as I know. Blue is not an official color and never has been.
