Let us all take a moment to laugh at Nick Saban and Alabama

“I think that the way people are going no-huddle right now, that at some point in time, we should look at how fast we allow the game to go in terms of player safety. That’s when guys have a much greater chance of getting hurt when they’re not ready to play."
“I just think there’s got to be some sense of fairness in terms of asking, ‘Is this what we want football to be?'”
YES NICK, THIS IS WHAT WE WANT! AND AT YOUR EXPENSE!!!
Ahhh yes. Order is restored in the world once again. A spread offense has dethroned the fighting finebaum's tide yet again. The same offense that Saban griped about has bitten him in the hind end on another occassion. We all witnessed the tide get curb stomped to the tune of 537 total yards. THIRD STRING QB Cardale Jones passed for 243 yards (18 of 35, 1 TD and 1 INT). Sure Derrick Henry ran for 95 yards for the tide but that's nothing compared to the 230 yards from Buckeye RB Ezekiel Elliott. 2014 began with Clint Trickett passing for 365 yards in that "gimicky spread offense." (Doh!!!) Also, the tide gave up 630 yards to Auburn. Surprisingly only 174 of these yards were rush yards while 456 were through the air. Even a pedestrian QB like Bo Wallace looked stellar against the slow tide, going 18 of 31 for 251 yards with 3 TDs and ZERO INTs (against the "world's greatest defense.") Even a sub par Miss St O amassed 428 yards at ole nicky's expense. A whoaful Dak Prescott even passed for 290 yards on the crimson slime. This compared to the 495 yards given up to Auburn in 2013. Also, the tide gave up 429 to Oklahoma but the lack of yards here can be attributed to short field situations. This is far short of the 628 yards given up to TAMU in 2013.
So, sure Nick "the trick"... let's line up and play power football. Oh wait, you can't stop that either! Yes even Arkansas outgained the tide 335 to 227. Nice Nick, ya let the Razorbacks go 9 of 19 on third down compared to your 4 of 15. So which is it? Ya wanna line up against the I Formation and get out gained and almost lose or go against a spread and get embarrased? Either way... your team is garbage and so is your defense. Just like your argument against spread offenses.
I'll leave you with this Saban quote... "How many times do I have to say it?! I'm not going to be the next coach of Alabama. Ok." Some 18 hours later.... "I'm very proud to announce that I've accepted the head coaching job at Alabama."

I kinda want saint nick to do well. You can bet that if Ala. was to look for a coach they would be looking where the blue ridge yawns it's greatness. I feel like they are the only program that Dabo would leave for.

He still has the best program in the country and they'll be right back in the thick of things next season.
I actually like Saban....never really given me a reason not to like him. I know he hates the spread but hes a defensive coach....they all hate it. Offense was their strength this season and it just wasnt enough in the Sugar Bowl.

Seriously, he soap-boxed & rallied against the HNUH on ALL FALSE PRETENSES!!!
If you believe the BS he spewed about player-safety & all that garbage about wanting to regulate the hurry-up....then you my friend are not just slightly naive.
He only wanted it his way because his "traditional" style & teams (who are supposed to be the best in the nation & standard) can't keep up....absolutely no other reason. what a load of crap.
That's like saying we're fighting the war on drugs, yet funding the drug lords.
Go Tigers!

They do get the extra hype...

but that tends to happen when your coach has won 4 national titles (including 3 at the current school), wo ntheir division 6 times, had 7 straight 10+ win seasons, hasnt finsihed ranked outside the top 10 since his first season and recruits inthe top 5 every year....and Bama is prbably the most football crazed school in the country.
They get the hyupe, but deservedly so the majority of the time.

...so they beat LSU and AU after bye weeks... usually. They

have been a defensive powerhouse playing against inferior offenses for years. LSU had D but usually had to win with STs. AU/Cam had O and better than average D and won. I'm not saying they aren't a regular Top 10, but their preferential treatment by the SEC powers always gave them a decided advantage. ESPiN hype always pushed them to the top with little to no fall-off after losses, unlike that with teams from any of the other conferences.
