LBs for next year

Jan 24, 2017, 6:43 PM

So who is our starting linebackers next year? I think it's a lock that O'Daniel starts at the SLB position. MLB and WLB is where it is not as clear to me. I thought Kendall Joseph was solid at MLB. It just so happens that the backup MLB, Tre Lamar was the best LB we had that was not starting. Is it possible for Joseph to slide over to take Boulware's old position at WLB opening up the MLB position for Lamar? I know Shaq Smith is going to figure into the picture somewhere, but I'm not yet sure where.

Skalski is a baller. He'll be in mix for sure.****

Not sure who starts, but as they say, "the cupboard ain't bare!"

I think Joseph starts at least until someone can unseat him. Tre Lamar will be a beast! And I can't wait to see Smith turned looses. I'm also excited about Skalaski, he seems to have that Boulware/Shuey kind of toughness and mean streak. It's gonna be fun watching what Coach V can do with these young wardaddys.

Joseph, O'Daniel, Lamar, Williams, Davis, Shaq Smith,

Chad Smith, and Skalski. We'll miss Boulware's leadership and intensity, but I think that's a really solid group, talent-wise, regardless of who starts. And remember, they've got the best coach in the land coaching them up!

I'd literally be afraid to be in competiton with a 5-star, hungry Shaq Smith that had to watch from the sidelines while everyone else played last year. The same Shaq Smith that won the award in Power Hour and spent 9 months getting stronger that he already was. That dude is going to have bloodlust in the spring!

Chad smith will push IMO. He was a special teams stud.

I bet different guys start throughout the year

based upon competition at practice each week. it's an embarrassment of riches. we should be deep at corner as well. d line too! basically we'll be rolling in fresh bodies who can ball all game long. doesn't matter who starts
