A 3 seed would be fantastic. I would be good with 1-4 seeding. Would want to avoid the dreaded 5 seed.

People that continue to bring up morehead state in threads that dont involve them are not clemson basketball fans.
Imagine if i brought up that we got blown out by duke (a team that has no 5* and only a few recruited 4* on their team) in every football thread? I would get some nasty responses. I dont do that because that loss hurt and im as pissed as anybody that we lost.

Actually it is not. It is a good indication of where we are as a team at the end of our non-conference schedule. If the season ended today, we would be a 3 projected 3 seed. Now we need to keep winning.

This isnt a preseason poll. We are almost halfway through the season. It is good to see where your twam is at after the non conference games. Glad we are projected as a 3 rather than projected on the bubble.

11 games into a 31 game regular season before we even hit the ACC Tournament is not nearly halfway. That’s like looking at a football poll at the end of September.
It may not be totally meaningless but it doesn’t mean much until we get a lot closer to March.

Would saying a third of the way make you feel better?
This is recognition of real accomplishments, not speculation. If we were .500 right now we wouldn't be in these projections. To say these are meaningless is ignorant.

I believe I said it wasn’t totally meaningless. My point was this early in the season does not make them very meaningful either, especially when we haven’t even gotten into conference play yet.
What I would say is we are off to a great start and that lends some optimism as we enter our conference schedule. But we also had a great start last year which is why we temper expectations until we get a lot deeper into the schedule.

Our start was not great last year. We lost to a bad USC team in the second game of the season. We lost to a bad loyola team, and iowa which was a respectable loss. We were not in the tourney at this point of the season last year. That is why non conference, and standings at the end of non conference matters.
Nobody is saying that because we are a 3 seed at this point in the season that we will remain a 3 seed.
