Honestly, I’ll probably show up to check if there are any responses over the years. Which will undoubtedly jerk me back in again for some more. But I’ve got a question that I’ve struggled with for years. Why do I listen to the same songs and watch the same shows and make the same mistakes over and over?

And I already know the “insanity or stupidity” explanation. It’s more of a comfort thing. I’m slowly growing slower day after day. I’m asked questions that I know the answers to, but I struggle to verbalize the answer as quick as I used too. I think I'm turning into a ghost sometimes. I yelled at the kids the other day and they didn’t even hear me. I yell at you guys all the time and it feels like nobody is listening anymore.

You got an empty place in your heart. You've stuffed about everything you can get your hand on in there but nothing fits. All that stuff is temporary and you know exactly what the fix for that empty is.

Get right with God and watch Him fill that void with fellowship and joy. Until you do it's just going to get worse and worse. Nothing else can fix it and you know that good and well.

How about a little cut from Psalms?

139:

"1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.

2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.

5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it."

Now we, you and I know how God does all that. I don't and won't ever believe King David didn't know God more and better than any of us. So why is that knowledge to wonderful for him? Why can he not 'attain unto it?'

We have that in common with the Psalmist. We know how God does all that, because He is The LORD. What we don't get, and neither did David, is why God treats every single one of us like we're His only child. Why me? Why you? Why?

Grace: The unmerited favor of God. Knowing that we still don't get it.
