Lack of logic/leadership

Nov 19, 2012, 2:13 PM

The ACC is already taking a beating nationally in football as being a weak major conference so what are we going to do? Add Connecticut? That would be a dumb-ass move!

That would just confirm that Swofford and the other leadership is owned by the basketball powers (namely UNC and Duke).

Who out there is a football power willing to move?

Nov 19, 2012, 2:19 PM

If we are looking at 4 or 5 power conferences with 14 teams there aren't 70 "football power" schools out there.

At some point all this conference realignment just becomes moving the same pieces over the same board game. Do you really think Rutgers or Maryland add ANYTHING to the Big 10 from a competitive standpoint?

Face it, this is a way for the ACC to get rid of dead weight. You think the SEC would try to stop Ole Miss or Vanderbilt from going to another conference? If it wasn't for Kentucky basketball, they would have probably called the big 10 and asked if they could hop a ride with Maryland.

Especially to the ACC when it's obvious there's no......

real focus on improving the conference's football strength.

I remember when VT, FSU, Miami, and BC came into the ACC - many around the country were saying we'd surpass the SEC as the major football conference - that sure didn't happen.

Is that the conference's fault

Nov 19, 2012, 2:26 PM

that Miami started sucking hind teet?

If Miami, FSU, Clemson, VT, GT and 1 other school like NCSU that thinks they play football were all to hold up our end of the bargain, it would rival the SEC and the Big 12.
