There is no doubt that last night's game was a game we should have won. We only had 5 turnovers but had a horrible shooting game and had no answer for Ellis and there is no defense at the line where the Ville was 26-28. Teams that have players with good skills and or size mismatches give us problems because we are not a great offensive team that can overcome a hot team. Two of our big men (Middlebrooks and Schieffelin) can't shoot a lick. It is pretty simple, when PJ is on the bench and Tyson and Galloway are not hitting their shots, we are in trouble. When we shoot well, we can play but are not good enough to overcome bad shooting.
We are also a victim of our lack of history. If any of the North Carolina schools had our ACC record, they would be in the NCCA easily, but we have to overcome 100 years of history. When you guys look at the standings and see their name near the top but hear they are not good enough to be included in the 68, the pressure builds. To make 3 point shots, you have to be loose but our guys are tight because we have no margin of error. The season still gives us a path and maybe last night will give us the nothing to lose mentality we need and we can still get a double bye. The committee has to have something to look at and we can still give them that.
