WR Body Types Next Season! Who fills RB/WR spot?
Jan 27, 2021, 7:34 PM

The Clemson offense the last few seasons has had that WR that was trapped in a RB body. Although Amari Rodgers was more WR.
But, Ray Ray McCleod, Hunter Renfrow, Adam Humphries & Artavis Scott all were those fast shifty guys who could potentially take a simple hitch to the house.
Then you have your big 9 man WR types. We have plenty of that on the roster! I thought Spector was playing really well then - bam nothing from him. Didn't recall seeing anything about him being injured.
Who fits the bill for inside WR on our upcoming roster you think? I am probably just forgetting somebody!
EJ isn't a slot guy. Neither is Ngata or Ladson or either of the Collins. Or Ross.

Spector will play a decent amount of snaps in the slot I’m sure. Other than that I’m not sure who fills that roll.

Oh and I forgot about the true freshman Tory Stellato. But typically true freshman won’t play much.

Thanks!
I have to admit - not up on Tory Stellato. I am going to YouTube right now though. Appreciate it.
Surely we have someone else who has been with the program we aren't thinking of though?

I do recall seeing his highlights. Oh man! You would hate to have to put that much pressure on him early; but he certainly fits the mold doesn't he.
He would be a good option to plug in there.

Just to get him some snaps, maybe we see a little of Shipley in that roll.

He would be a viable option as well! He has good hands and good short area quicks.

I realize I get crushed by you x and o guys. Probably laugh at my posts, which is cool. Idc. But if I were Dabo, I'd take ajou ajou and grind the heck out of him in the slot. He's a manchild, and I remember him getting off quick, shifty with that high jump track background skills.
Got them long arms and can go up and get it. But I think he'd be great with the long arms and maintain that inside leverage, he can go out and ###### it. To me he'd be great working him on some slants in 3rd and 6 situation. If you had to work him to the boundary, he can climb the ladder.
I think you have to give ngata reps. Otherwise, he'll get stuck in 3 deep on roster imo.
Off topic, but I guess everyone has seen that Bama just inked the highest rated class.

Oops, check that, inked the highest rated class ever in football, or at least since recruits ratings apps. Wow.

Outside of being skinny, what body style did Hunter have that made look like a wide receiver? He was small and enough to walk around campus and look like a some student from podunk. What he had was great hands and a heart to match. We could use another Mr. 3rd down.

Renfrow was a Heck Of A Athlete

I don't care what he looked like. He was an athlete. He had great heart and hands too; but he was/is an athlete too! He was a H.S. QB at Socastee! A dominant one making guys who were also athletes look silly.
I wish we had another Mr. 3rd Down as well. Was hoping Galloway would be that guy everybody in the stadium "knew would be getting the ball" and still couldn't stop it. But, oh well.
As far as slot - there have been a couple of very good options mentioned.
