Stupid Vehicle Question(s)

Hi guys, another dumba>ss here with random questions about vehicles.
Greenr has a 2008 Ford F150, very low miles, sitting at his house. I use it as a beach vehicle only. So...the battery is dead AF since it hasn't been cranked in months. I've spent maybe $6500 in the last 12 months fixing various issues with the truck. It was inherited from my Dad but it isn't like a really sentimental vehicle.
Greenr also has a 2019 Toyota Highlander AWD Limited. This is my everyday car. I like it alot, but the rest of the family HATES it for some reason. They can kiss my as>s. It has about 50k miles on it. I only bought it 10 months ago. Financed SOME, but I'm not upside down in it or anything.
Is it a REALLY dumb idea to sell both and just get one vehicle that meets both needs? I need 4WD for the beach, but that is the only time I need it. AWD doesn't cut it out there.
New/Used trucks are out of the question, Greenr aint dropping $45k for a used Tundra and certainly not $60k+ on something new. Same with a Tahoe. Wife wants one, she doesn't understand that they are VERY cost prohibitive.
Also, about 3 years from now, Wife will get a new vehicle. Daughter will take her 4Runner as her vehicle, so at that time, I would have 4 vehicles (an no room to store them all on this postage stamp of a lot).
I saw a 2015 Lexus GX 4WD with low miles that looks REALLY nice.
Discuss with me, Jounge. How would you wealthy industrialists handle this? How would you po folks, disguised as wealthy industrialists handle this? Should I just S T F U and keep both for now?
Thanks and have a great Mammary Monday.

but I have a very large moment of inertia when it comes to buying and selling vehicles so I'd take care of the battery and do nothing else.
But that's me

A - No reason to trade to an older vehicle.
2 - You can always use a truck.
III - There can only be one. Highlander.

But I make lots of other poor financial decisions.
I would just have 1 vehicle unless no mortgage, good college savings, and a surplus of monthly income.

It's time to move to New York City where you don't need 4WD, or vehicles at all. Just buy everybody subway passes and be done with the trauma of making decisions about vehicles.

So, the $6500 on the truck, how much is left to fix?

if you like the Highlander, keep it. Remember, the kids have 0 right to input on this. The wife, well of course she can have input since it is family finance stuff. Unless she is often having to drive it on account of you getting drunk, I am not sure she has THAT much input.
So other than maybe not driving on the beach like some kinda hoodlum, keep them both and worry about changes when you have a young driver in the house.

hassle, keep that older, working pickup truck.
Either it will help you through the zombie apocalypse, or more likely it will help your better-armed neighbor through the zombie apocalypse. Either way, win/win.

cuz chick truck, definitely don’t buy another chick truck, make the manly truck(Ford) your daily driver, take up chewing tobacco so you can have spit stains down the driver side, and reclaim your man card. Be the bada$$ you know you are.
PS, no Salt Life or Browning stickers, and no light bar.

Secondly, I can't see how the $6500 investment in the truck was worthwhile. That's water under the bridge, at this point and bears no consideration on future vehicle decisions (other than to say it has a *new engine* or whatever you did to make it better)
Keep the HIGHLANDER. That's your call. I feel like this should definitely be okay for beach by being even the slightest bit careful. Maybe when you get new tires, throw on an all-terrain tire or something.
Keep the truck. You've got boys coming up right behind the girl, IIRC. Perhaps girl can take the reins on the 4 runner, wife can take the Highlander, and you can take the truck when lil' miss starts driving. Heck, maybe she can drive the truck. Let her jump some curbs and get in fender benders with it, then after she's mastered driving, get her a Honda Civic or something that she can drive through college and on into womanhood. Then the young boys take the truck.
All the time, you still have the truck for beach activities.
What's the story on wife's 4Runner? Year? Mileage? Pictures of her in a bikini washing it?

Keep it another 3-5 years where your maintenance costs are miniscule and the remaining depreciation is tiny.
