Watching Hurts' highlights, it seems he completes a lot more passes when his WR's are wide open 5-10 yards from defenders. Seldom do I ever see him throw into a tight window and complete it. He is seriously over-rated IMO. You could take any of our QB's and ALL of them would start for Bama. We are that deep at QB compared to Bama.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for our Tigers, but Hurts is 14-1 as a QB in college games vs pretty good competition. We have no one currently with a resume to compare. Not saying we don't have a guy who could do the same, but all are unproven.

Yeah but when your defense scores about once a game and gives up less than that you don't have to do a lot to be 14-1 as a qb. You just bettter not lose it.

not having a proven blah, blah, blah. Did we have proven defensive ends to start the season last year? Did we have proven safeties? Did we have a proven left tackle the year that Battle left for the NFL .....in August....Did some of us say that Jadar would be better than the two safeties we lost? Now, is our QB going to be better than last year? Well, I'm gonna say no. Will he be better than Hurts? Well again, I don't think that would take much. I think I heard yesterday that Jalen threw 85% of his completions at or behind that line of scrimmage. Guillermo could do that. No offense Jay. So, I think with our offensive staff, they can figure out how to get production from the QB this year. And if they do, we can be right back in it. Can we score a point a minute on the coots? Who knows, but we may not need but 10-15. I tell ya, If I was a coot , I would pray that Jake eats his Wheaties and works on his back peddling this summer.....He may need to go as fast backwards as he does forwards...

Experience in games is huge. Dabo agrees and that is exactly why he plays so many backups early in games instead of running up the stats.

Hurts is not a great passer. He doesn't have to be a great passer to have a great winning % at Alabama. In all honesty he will probably be a late round draft pick when he goes to the NFL. Great athlete for sure but not an elite arm. Not a prototypical NFL QB. Someone will take a chance on him though. Maybe he will develop into one but I doubt it. As far as we go I'm sure we have someone who is a better passer but who really knows for sure right now.

He is only an upcoming sophomore, he has 3 years to improve his passing. Time will tell.
