Just have to be honest

Sep 20, 2012, 11:13 AM

I'm generally pretty level headed about matchups, even involving Clemson... but the line on our games makes no sense to me.

We are the 10th ranked team in the country. I know we are in Tally, but they have beaten Savannah St., Murray St., and WF.

We are putting up 520 yds. a game, with 4 guys on offense that are getting national attention.

Our defense hasn't looked great, but we have a legit 3rd down % and redzone %.

Should we be favored... absolutely not... but I don't see how the line's not 5 or so... 14 is unbelievable to me.

Good assessment

MauldinT, where are you???

Trying to be completely objective, I think a reasonable line

for the game is 9-10 points. Using the proverbial 3-point home field advantage and thinking they would be a 6-7 point favorite just based on paper. The 14 makes no sense to me either.

You know how point spreads work and why they are given.

I won't go into that.

With all the preseason hype and the scores of the first three games it's no wonder the heavy money is on FSU. ESPiN has set this game up since we walked over AU in the kickoff classic.

does the fact that the line isn't moving mean Vegas is

betting public as a whole. FSU has dominated three opponents, with Wake being the "better" of the three.

Clemson took care of the 2 cupcakes, but not nearly in as dominating a fashion. The Auburn win seemed really good at the time, but the general public now looks at Aubrun as a dumpster fire and a lot of the respect that win initially gave us has waned.

because based on their previous scores and stats, everyone thinks this is the FSU of the 90's.

It's about perception from the public

Sep 20, 2012, 11:32 AM

Not about reality. I think the smart money is on Clemson.
