I highly recommend Daniel Rodriguez's new book, Rise. Very good. Even more impressed with him than I already was--and that was a lot already. You'll be proud of him as as American and a Clemson Tiger.

The Amazon customer reviews on Rise are accurate. Here's that link. Also this book has adult, army language.

Even at the age of 62, I remember that ride in the cattle cars to boot camp. I still have very vivid memories even this very moment. Out of a nice enjoyable life of graduating HS into what I thought then into pure H&LL. But I did end up enjoying basic training and the 12 weeks of AIT. After the first couple weeks, the next 6 weeks was a cake walk in basic training. I could see and feel my body changing everyday, and no BS, I really enjoyed it. You go into basic as a wet behind the ears boy, and come out becoming a man.

According to some on here, DR is an arrogant, drunk, talentless fake. I'm not sure of anything but I KNOW he's was a brave young man and served this country and that's enough for me!
