Just curious

Dec 20, 2022, 11:21 AM

How many people on the board have ever played college football

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I played DIII with Mike Pressler for Gary Fallon...

Dec 20, 2022, 11:23 AM

Fallon was starting HB with the Ernie Davis Cuse teams.

Oh, and Mike is a fraternity brother...

1 year in college, at a very small school in New England, Maine Maritime Academy. I hurt my knee my freshman year and never played another snap. Moved with family to Clemson and the rest is history.

Before Maine Maritime I did play 9 previous years between Pee Wee league, Junior High and High School.

Men at 25 play football. Men at 40 play tennis. Men at 60 play golf. Have you noticed as men get older their balls get smaller.

I played 1 season of football while at Clemson...

on an intramural team.

I knew you had skills, D1 intramural is as good as it gets.***

Sorry, Intramural bowling on three different teams, one of

which actually contained some members of Clemson's bowling team, was as close as I got to playing a sport while at Clemson. (Unless you count endless roundball games in Fike or the old Frat Quad court that existed while I was there. Despite nearly no vertical, I had some BB skills at the time. For some reason, me being a lefty seemed to constantly catch the opposition off guard. :))

Real PBA style bowling. The Student Union (which is now

being torn down) was brand new, and opened up for Intramural bowling leagues my last year at Clemson. I went back to Clemson awhile back, and they have the Intramural Champions listed for every single year....except the very first one, which was my senior year. I would have been on the board not one, not two, but THREE times, as my teams won Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday night league crowns that year. (Did I mention I didn't waste a lot of time on that pesky "studying"? Bowling three nights a week was one reason why.

Nice & studying is overrated. My bowling experience was...

more likely tied to PBR and that's when things begin to get foggy.

Linebacker speed. Ran track, but I was a miler or two miler. Ran a few 880s. (Yes, I'm old enough that I ran track in yards, not meters.)

Loved HS football. Never missed a game. My dad loved HS football. We went to 2 or 3 games some weeks (Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights in Columbus, GA. 7 high schools, 1 stadium.)

Me and Vince Lombardi have something in common.

You should have done jiu jitsu instead of football. There aren't many dudes with that kind of height that weigh that little. You could have been a star.
