Just a reminder...

Just a reminder that we, as fans, don't always know what is going on with these kids' lifes or families. Remember this next time you criticize a player for declaring for the draft early and getting guaranteed money. We call all agree that Mac should of gone because he will be 1st round, but in the example of Kearse, he has a baby just a few months old he most likely needs to support.

Generally speaking , a completed college degree works wonders in helping to support those you love .
I know what you meant though , and I do not disagree.

has your degree...

Earned you 6-10 million? Yeah, mine either.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

6 million is only 200k average for 30 years

Jan 16, 2016, 10:06 AM

so yes, many have earned that much with their degree. Very few NFL players make that kind of money.

It helps, but not as much as several million guaranteed.

False. A college degree means less than ever.

Unless you are an engineer or doctor, having a degree isn't the thing it once was. Besides, the long list of highly successful people to never finish college is too long to ignore.

interesting..so MAC's Mom in hospital & didn't attend NC Game..

And he waited to sign in front of her & Family!

Plus, his injury during game was the beginning of the end for Clemson's victory, IMHO.

Exactly...

The trash talking of Kearse is pretty unsettling. I would expect better from the best fans in the nation. We have no idea what was going on with his life, health, or energy. I am going to assume that was his best at the moment and just wish him the best. We may not have even been in that championship without Kearse.

I know he came from a low income background, much like many of us. I realize the draw of NFL money would be had to pass up, especially knowing your family needs it. But a college degree would have helped show others in his family that they to can get one. And should Stive to do it. I don't blame him for going to the NFL. I would want to also. I just like to see them graduate. The Junior's that have their degree and are leaving I don't mind them doing at all. There's no guarantee in the pro's.
GO TIGERS!!!

They way some went after Kearse on here was unsettling

Kearse is young father, and member of the Clemson family. He was part of the 2nd most successful season in history. For every loaf he had I can recall a great play he made as well (TD saving tackle vs. Louisville, interception vs. Ohio State, huge tackle for loss vs. Georgia Tech). How hard is it to simply wish these young men well and move forward?
