Joining the SEC means end fans access to DV field after game

Do you still want to join SEC if that means fans could no longer go on the field after home games? Certainly the SEC will not allow us to do it when the rest of the SEC cannot

It could be "grandfathered" as is the case with Miss St?

Special considerations and guidelines in place? I imagine if an invite comes from the SEC, Clemson will certainly ask and take things into consideration?

Artificial noise makers are not allowed in SEC stadiums, but Miss St grandfathered in the cowbell.
Rushing the field is basically against the rules everywhere, except good ol Clemson. When we make that move to the SEC “superconference” (it’s coming) , then we better make that an important tradtion to grandfather in.

Joining the SEC means end fans access to DV field after game NOT SO FAST!

Isn’t it possible for an exception to the SEC field access rule?
There is a precedent as the SEC in 2010 modifying its “no artificial noisemakers” rule to allow Mississippi State to use their beloved, albeit annoying to everyone else, cowbells.
Could such an exception be provided for Clemson’s tradition of “gathering at the Paw?”
I’m sure UofSC would be fully supportive of any such initiative!
GO TIGERS!

We’d have to stop the tradition. It’s one thing to do that in the ACC. The SEC is a whole nother level when it comes to rabid fans. For the safety of Clemson players and staff not sure I’d want our guys on the field at the same time as fans in Athens or Knoxville. Given the money at stake, I doubt holding onto that tradition is even a factor

Disagree. Its our field, and we have rabid fans.

I recall one time ever when there was an on-field incident. Why would the SEC be concerned of our fans rushing our field when we’ve proven we know how to handle it?

Why would the SEC make an exception for us?! If they yes to us they’d have to open it up to everyone else. Not gonna happen. Yes we’re rabid but we’re not SEC crazy

Yep. If our fans would actually WAIT until after the teams had shook hands, as instructed week after week, I believe the tradition would look better to the SEC. Right now, they see people coming on the field while opposing players are still on (though security does a good job around the visitor sideline, I think).

SEC could allow "meet and the paw" and still not allow "storming the field."

Yep
It's going to end eventually anyway because of either some act by some idiot or the ACC will pass the same rule. Surprised it hasn't already.

I believe we can negotiate something. First, it’s a tradition, well documented, and branded. It’s not “rushing the field” when you do it every game.
We could also just figure out a way to pay the fine and do it anyway, but that would cost about $3-4m per season.

### business. Since it’s tradition, they would have to make an exception and move on. We run down the hill and can hit the tailgate at halftime too. Don’t like it. Tough.
