red shirt as SAMMY'S backup. He'll have a good game because Nuk will get the attention Sammy would have gotten. If there is one position where we have tons of quality depth, it's WR. Jaron, Charone, Martavius, Adam, Stanton, we have plenty of firepower to go along with Nuk.
Oh, and I was forgetting Hopper coming in this summer, too. This just might be the reason he avoids a red shirt as well.

Sammy would be a big loss when we play Auburn, but we still have Hopkins, Brown and Bryant, and we still have Ellington. I think we've got more than enough weapons to beat Auburn. It doesn't mean we WILL, but we "can't"? Please.

If I remember correctly, I think Palmer's rationale was that we didn't have Sammy against NC St last year and our offense looked awful without him - however, as we know we obviously had bigger issues at that point than just missing Sammy, after the Ga Tech debacle. That was when the wheels were coming off in all aspects of the season, mainly Tajh's confidence and decision making and everyone's lack of accountability - not a good game to gauge the effects of Sammy's absence.
