Its okay to want to be good in basketball.

It’s okay, for the amount of money we spend on coaching and facilities, to have an enthusiastic coach who can actually win big games. There’s no reason Clemson can’t have a great basketball team. We continue to settle for mediocre so we continue to get mediocre. At some point we have to break the mold and make it ok to raise the bar.

Our 90 year history in Basketball has shown IRS hard to get great coaches to come to Clemson. Its also been proven to be a difficult school to succeed at a high level at all much less to do it consistently.

Please post a list of 5 coaches you think would come to Clemson for 4 mil per that would build Clemson into a power within 5 years ala Dabo in football.

If high major coaches were asking Clemson for the job they would get it.

Yeah I’m not a coaching expert and don’t want to be. Just think it’s ok to want more from a sport than postseason every 5 or 6 years. So I have a list of zero. I Expect Mr Neff to have a list of 5. But even that response shows we are willing to accept mediocrity because “no one who is good wants to come here”. I just reject the notion. Respectfully.

But Mr Neff thought we were a "tournament team" last year. I guess Morehead State didn't get the message.

We could find another talented coach with new energy and zeal by looking around after the season.

I believe Neff will make a change if we don’t make big 68 or win some NIT games.

Right now Brad needs our support, this team is good enough to turn this thing around and win the ACC but they need to have a belief and determination.

PJ Hall is a heck of a leader, I look for him to get this team redirected in the right direction and go on a big run especially with the talent we have on this team.

I’m going to cheer them on because it’s the team/coach we have for this season, hopefully they can win out to the final 4 from here.

They are good enough to do it but they will all have to commit to playing like champs.

Let’s go

I can’t pretend to know all the ins and outs of the full Clemson basketball operation… but listening to Joy Smith (assistant coach on the women’s team who played at duke, coached at Ohio state and vandy and maybe other places) talk about how she was shocked when she first got to Clemson and talked about the facilities and basketball operations tells me clemson is a better job than most ppl on here try to act like… who cares if we have never been a power house it has to start somewhere. Ppl act like before Dabo we were some monster in football and that’s just far from the truth especially in my lifetime. Plus 4 mill a year I’m pretty sure that’s what Bennett makes at UVA… and that’s more than a lot of good ones make. We could attract a very good coach to Clemson, im not saying it could be someone like bill
Self lol but I’m sick of the excuses I read on here from a couple posters about we don’t find or support basketball , that’s complete BS.

Since when is the season we are having this year considered mediocre?

Are you aware of how uncommon it is for our basketball program to be ranked in the top 25?

Your not helping, that only points out what he’s done in a decade and a half, let’s focus on winning the next game right now and then worry about the ACC & tournament.

As talented as this team is they should be a tournament team that goes deep into the NCAA this season, they need to shake it off and get back on track.

It’s “uncommon” because of our players/coaches/facilities or is history the devil?

It doesn’t help the Brad argument at all at this point in his career with the best team he’s ever had thanks to the portal -> with zero ACC wins.

This argument is getting old. $103mil since 2016 is top 3% in D1 since that time frame. Brownell seems happily employed or else why doesn't he take another big P5 job? CBB is paid top 30 pay and very seldom has us in top 30 . CBB better get this team (his best ever) back on track after going 2-3 on last 5 games or more fans will be questioning CBB's his ability once again.

If he doesn’t win enough to make the tournament his chances of making this kind of money again will be slight unless it’s here.

Even Brad's most ardent supporters complain about what a waste and nothing burger the $65 Million Littlejohn renovation was for the program - so why trust this same leader with a $40 Million basketball facility on top of that? Seems like good money after bad.

We're roughly top 40 in program budget and Brad's salary - and have a 75th average finish over these past 5 years to show for it.
