Hard to cheer against the other teams. Pretty much an individual sport. But great competition and very entertaining.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I've never been a big olympic sport fan but my wife is and has gotten me interested.

I noticed that, for me, I don't cheer against the other team as hard as I do in football. In football, I cheer when an opposing receiver drops a ball. When watching these lady gymnasts, I cringe and feel bad for them when they miss a landing or nearly fall off the beam or bars. I guess that's the difference in watching women compete.

You don't have to technically cheer against the other team, since the score matters more than the head-to-head victory. Your national ranking/NCAA tournament birth is fully based on a season average of top 6 scores, not meet record. At the end of the season, the top 36 scores in the country make the NCAA tournament, then head-to-head matters as it becomes single elimination.
