Batten down the hatches, boys and girls. Chit's getting real

Too little, too late... Exponential growth in the next few weeks. SC confirmed cases doubled from yesterday and that's probably the tip of the iceberg.
Good luck to all. Be smart.

remember, if you are elderly, stay away from public places like gas stations and polling locations. it is not worth dying over.

its been in our country since at least November

we receive 8.5 million visitors from China annually. November, December, January would equal 2.12 million visitors before travel restrictions were in place for DIRECT visitors from China.
China admitted that the virus had been discovered on November 17. They did not discover the very first person in that country to be sick. There is no telling how long it went undetected.
I listened to a Doctor in Tacoma this weekend who is pretty sure her husband had it in December. He had all the symptoms and tested negative for flu. It ran its course and he is fine. How many more were out there?
What is spiking the numbers is that normally sane people who would stay home with a fever and chills are now swamping ER's for fear of the death plague.
I deal with 300+ customer locations in 31 states and the level of insanity I have seen in the last two weeks is beyond anything I can comprehend. I had a plant of 700+ people who was going to shut its doors and send everyone home last week because they "thought" someone had it.
and you are right, its just beginning. Not COVID 19, the hysteria surrounding it.
I fully expect the country to completely shut down for two weeks. Happy April Fools

I just gave you the daily and the death rate is plunging.
Can we call that a win? Or no. We need to panic even further?

Actually, I think it is possible that the medical side of this might subside in a month or two. However, if the medical aspect lasts a month, the economic downturn will last a year.

tested regularly regardless of symptoms along with patients and the sick as the testing apparatus finally rolls out in numbers.
Random sample testing in states and municipalities would help extensively also, on a regular basis, starting yesterday. It's just as important to know the % of people that aren't infected, or are but showing no symptoms and thus no reason to get tested in the first place. Or catching people early in the process by chance. Demographic and geographic breakdowns of the volunteer testees. Medications. What is, and what isn't. We're not feeding enough data into the machine to help us solve the equation, while society and commerce have effectively swirled into a standstill.

Testing should have been prioritized at least a month ago, as much for prevention as identification...
