that was precipitated and meticulously planned by ESPN and Fox Sports. How many others had that thought during the last PAC-12 Championship award celebration?

It's a shame that a 65-year-old storied conference gets flushed down the toilet because college football is about money and only money. RIP.

one pro league was enough, and there's plenty of ways to get kids a share

without making it salary. 401k and IRA-type investment vehicles come to mind, maybe with a shorter planned life but still deferred.
And the deferred nature of the money would not only have been in keeping with College's long-term, educational purpose, but also destroyed completely the incentives to cheat.
What has been done to amateurism is characteristic of a Nation that has lost its Religion, so to say, and as with anything these days, only the Lawyers and Politicians really win.
It was done this way on purpose, with young kids as the stooges. In the end, they'll pay for something they didn't really understand. The failure of many to be claimed from the Portal, and related subsequent the loss of a college education, is but the first of the obvious ways kids will be abused.
That people like you don't get this is sad, and disturbing. But Lawyers lie; it's what they do. Why wouldn't you think they're lying to you?

I’m ok with it. I don’t think Holly Rowe had a personal role in the destruction of the Pac 12. It would be weird if they didn’t acknowledge it.
And while there is blame to go around, ESPN did make an offer, but their university presidents and commissioner thought they were worth more. Turns out they weren’t. This is self inflicted with an assist from Fox for getting the ball rolling with USC and UCLA.

I had exactly the same thought. It was an impressive display of hypocrisy.

Wait until they toss the ACCCG to Friday night next year so they can simulcast and showcase the SEC game on all their platforms. Would not surprise me one bit.

I liked how they hinted the CFP Committee would want to match up Michigan and Washington in the Rose Bowl. As if the Committee manipulates the final 4 rankings to get the matchups they want. /sarc

I'm 100% on board with one final legit rose bowl

between the B1G and PAC champs. It would require UGA to win today though. I don't see any way to keep Michigan and Washington out of the #1 and #2 spots if Georgia loses. That would require alot more rigging thatn anyone could plausibly justify. I know the committee chairman is always good at talking out of both sides of his mouth, but good luck justifying that.
But if Georgia and Michigan bowl win it would make sense to send Georgia to the Sugar as the top seed and have a Michigan vs Washington rose bowl.

Have unintended consequence.
Not sure if anything was meticulously planned _ more like cluelessly unplanned without consideration for consequences.

Umm ESPN made PAC 12 an offer and they refused.

It’s their own fault, not ESPN’s.
So to answer your question, no I didn’t think that, because only a moron would think that.
