Ted Roof, a veteran and respected coach, is the DC for Venables. It looks like he is making the calls, not BV.

The problem, IMHO, quarterbacks and wide receivers are too good (all across the nation) for a DB to play press-man defense with no safety help.

away from the day to day game planning, and being in a position to make the calls. I think BV is learning that, much like Dabo did. Remember, Dabo tried to call the offense, and learned the value of surrounding himself with coaches that he trusts, and let them coach.

Tough road right now, but BV will be fine.
