Gronk is hurt and Hernandez is gone. Could see some playing time!

I think they'll try to make Tebow play some TE in camp but you gotta like Ford's chances!!

No way Tebow plays TE. So many more FA's and college guys that are way more qualified than him to play the position. Just leave Tebow as a 3rd string QB. I definitely think Ford gets a shot.

Yea, I believe people are getting ahead of themselves believing that Tebow, who is a good athlete, is going to be able to all of a sudden change his position and be able to perform at an NFL level.

Plus, won't Gronk be back?

Seems like he'd be the starter. But it would be great to see a Tiger get a real shot with a strong NFL squad like that.

Cold response...I know Brandon would not want playing time because of an arrest.

I think people are just averse to using the phrase "good news for _____" due to the circumstances that a person is dead.
I believe the best way of phrasing the original question would be "Does Aaron Hernandez's arrest present an opportunity for Brandon Ford?".
It absolutely does.

arrested, and quite possibly spending the rest of his life behind bars, or better yet, getting the death penalty, OR do you feel worse for the guy that has already been given and has gotten, the death penalty!

I can tell you, living in New England & seeing the Boston papers & news every day, I have not even seen 1 thing about him yet. They have talked about at least 5-6 guys behind Gronk & AH that will be next in line for playing time, a couple I have never even heard of. Not looking good so far, but a strong impression at camp will do wonders...it would be great having a standout Clemson guy on the Pats. I will definitely post if I see anything develop. GO TIGERS!

I'm not sure what the rest of the pats roster looks like

But at a glance I'd say yes. Brandon is more of the TE that Hernandez was. He's a threat down the seam that the pats need to take the top off of defenses because they don't have big play WR's. Ford, in that role, wouldn't be asked to block much. Gronk is more the all around TE that is in on every play. Hernandez played much more like a WR and got downfield which I would say is more of Ford's forte. I think this certainly opens a doors for him to be on the field for a significant amount of snaps assuming the Pats don't seek out another FA Tight End.
