I know it's not the look of a typical system and he has a lot of talent but man we've got a third stringer out here throwing for 6 TDs.

Absolutely 1 million percent a system QB
I really haven’t seen many QBs besides Justin Herbert out of the PAC-12 in the last 10 or so years to perform at a high level in the NFL.
This is implying that the PAC-12 defenses are awful. And they are.

Those QB's were not in PAC 12. Mahomes-Big 12, Jackson-ACC, Hurts-SEC/Big 12

He throws a lot of ill advised passes. He will have to do better or he will get burned bad in the NFL.

The Pac-12 has sucked for a bit, and maybe even worse than the ACC, but they are turning the corner. Caleb is the real deal. On the other hand, he is a mercenary coming from the Sooners.

He does well in Lincoln’s system though. He would do well in a lot of systems.
He wouldn’t do well in Iowas system. Nobody would do well in Iowas system. Probably wouldnt be exceptional in the Navy or Army systems.

I think Lincoln Riley is just a great QB coach. You look at his QB’s that make the NFL they all wind up drafted higher than probably should have been (with the exception of Hurts). I think Caleb is the best QB Riley has put out, but I don’t buy that he’s a no doubt superstar like some are predicting.

One side of detractors says he can't play in a system and totally depends on scrambling and improvising.
Now someone asks if he's just a system QB.
He just can't win.
We'll find out the truth on Sundays next year.

He throws 5/6 TD's against bad teams.
Granted the USC defense could easily be argued as the worst in the history of college football.
He might turn out to be a good NFL QB, but what is being smoked by those who see him as #1 pick ?? I really do not get it at all.
I would not even waste 1 second thinking about taking this guy unless he fell to Mr irrelevant like Brock Purdy and then I may roll those dice LOL
