He really hasn't had the talent. Its kind of like when they used to say Clemsoning. There are expectations that are unrealistic for who they are at the moment. Penn State recruiting needs to go up to win those games. On that note, maybe Franklin will never get those players??

He isnt a great recruiter for who he is going against. They have good talent. Not even close to good enough to be who they want him to be.

Penn St has plenty of talent, and they usually get first pick of all of the in state kids over Pitt. This isn’t Franklin at Vandy.

He just can’t win the big one. At some point that’s just your MO.

Talent still matters. PSU is competitive in a lot of those games but just not quite talented enough to get over the hump on a consistent basis. I still think he is a good coach but OSU and MI are tough outs for everyone.
