He missed it.

Ball was kicked and landed wide of the post. At best he curved it enough to put it over the post, but over is not inside. Regardless, with a quality kick there is no controversy. The kicker has no one to blame but himself.

There are 2 angles and from one it looks

good and from the other it looks no good.
Gotta trust the official under the post on that one. And yes the ENTIRE ball must be inside the post even if it's above it.
I think the replay rule on kicks are stupid though.

Just makes the left post angle left from the perspective.

At best, it would have hit the upright (like the goal line that extends into infinity).

It was no good. Not the only one he missed in the game. I realize you wanted the dookies to lose, but they won... Something about a blind squirrel...

They can only make them so tall and then they start to sway

because they'd have to be extremely lightweight.
I can tell you from experience it's a tough call to make on a kick like that but the rule is the entire ball must be inside the upright.

FAA and airplanes would probably be the biggest concern

but there's no reason they can't put a camera directly below or on the top of the posts and have video replay/confirmation of it.

a day when field goals were questionable. These days, they all have really high uprights. Kickers have no excuse for kicking the ball that high.

I mean if you kick a field goal and actually hit the goal posts..that should be worth 4 points.
Goals posts are 23'4" wide, and the goals them selves are 4" wide. That's trying to hit 8" out of 23'4". That's gotta be worth an extra point.

Lets just put up a big clear board inside the goal post.

it can have various zones that are worth more points. Dead center can be worth 4, the outter most zone worth 5. The rest worth 3. Does your kicker have the balls to go for 5 knowing a miss is likely?
