Irish Goodbyes.

The older I get the more I use the Irish goodbye. Especially around the holidays seeing folks you really only see once a year. I find it somewhat therapeutic since I used to get anxiety about having to speak to people again that I have nothing in common with such as my BIL.

The Baptist goodbyes are the opposite of Irish goodbyes. They take longer than any goodbyes I’ve ever witnessed. Ask my brother, married into a family of big time Baptists.

I still use it and my in-laws don't seem to pick up on it.... As my kids sit next to them on the couch.

I only used it when I was younger and "hammered" and didn't want get caught up in all the good bye jibber jabber. Not a problem these days.
