McElwain out at Florida

Looks like the coaching carousel has begun. Will be interesting to see where these teams look to fill their vacancies and what it may do to some recruits at those schools.
Wonder if Gouriage (excuse the spelling) is rethinking his gator commitment

they will get exposed and absolutely throttled when they finally have to play a team with a pulse.

They will probably play better now. Randy Shannon is who I heard will be the interim coach. The players may be more responsive to him rather than an embattled McElwain.

They offered a lifetime supply of Natty light and he said he’s a coors man. Just trying to get the details worked out.

Unlike Tennessee, the right hire could help UF.

Matt Campbell, Babers or someone like those 2 would boost UF recruiting.

considering the fact that UF has fired their past two coaches after just 3 seasons, and McElwain after winning two straight division titles

Just because their last 2 coaches were not ready for prime time, that doesn't mean crap. Florida, with their history and recruiting footprint is still a sought after job. The phone is ringing as I type.

Nebraska and UT being prime examples. And how great is their history outside of the Spurrier (only 12 seasons) and Urban Meyer (6 seasons) Eras

Very true. Florida did not have its first official 10 win

season until 1990. Clemson had won 10 games or more in a season eight times before Florida.
Florida won 10 games one of Pell's years (I think it was 1980), but they had to forfeit all 10 wins due to recruiting violations.

at Florida.
If that pans out, the SEC should be scared. If I were Florida, I'd nab him before Tennessee does.

After winning back to back sec east titles McElwain is fired before Butch Jones.
1 bad season and he's out. Now that is SEC speed!

until this year, where it looks obvious, they've quit.
