We are an 8-4 team in a horrible league.

Nov 27, 2012, 7:18 AM

The only two teams we played with any kind of defense and offense for that matter, beat us. I find it hard to go around bragging about being 10-2 when we play teams like Wake, Maryland, BC, Duke, NC State, etc.

I know many will disagree but I wish more than anything we could move to the SEC and at least be excited about who we are playing and get recruits who want to for us on the big stage. I'd love to see Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas, etc coming to the Valley. Hard to get excited about the schedule we play and even harder to listen to the media laugh at us for being in the ACC.

Well, we are still in this league and I do not see any

other league inviting us to join them anytime soon. Maybe that will change in the not so distant future.

But, one difference this year, is that we finally beat all those guys and did not slip up against them.

That's got to count for something, right?

We're friends. You laugh, I laugh. You cry, I cry. You jump off a bridge, I get in my boat and save your retarded a$$.

depends on who answers. we could go back, be 4-4 in the not

so wonderful acc, get beat by a 2 win duke team[after knocking off daU] and then beat a sorry 6-5 scar team.

the world would be returned to the natural order of things for some.

I agree, we've won 20 games in two years and have beaten no one. Staying in the ACC has been a mistake.

We're 10-2 this year. Not 8-4.

May I suggest that you become a fan of the SEC if that is your biggest concern.
Personally, I am a CLEMSON fan and I am very happy to be where we are right now. All this expansion is going to ruin college football. Follow Maryland closely for the next few years.

Boo hoo.

Life is full of disappointments. Clemson isn't getting an invite to the SEC. Conference expansion is fluid and not set in stone. Losing to USuCk provided a much-needed reality check for Dabo (again). We'll see what kind of changes he makes in the off season.

It's laughable to think Clemson can't play "big-boy" football without being in the SEC.

You folks dreaming of the SEC should see what the Big 10 did

Nov 27, 2012, 8:32 AM

They added teams from NEW markets. It's all about new TV markets. If somehow So Car went insane and dropped out of the SEC, yes, the SEC would want us. The SEC is not in the cards for us.

You really need to think this through before declaring your preference for the SEC over the ACC. Let's be honest, at this point, South Carolina has a better football team than we do and they are in the SEC. Yet they have no potential of being in a BCS bowl game. In fact, they very likely will be in a "lesser bowl" than Clemson. And the bad news for Yardbird fans is, that isn't going to change. Granted, they won the SEC East a few years ago because Georgia, Florida and Tennessee were all having "off years." Georgia and Florida are back, and Tennessee will be soon. All three have better facilities and a greater SEC tradition than South Carolina. And that's just in the east. Who in their right mind thinks South Carolina can play with Alabama, LSU and Texas A & M year in and year out? We need to face two facts: 1) J. Clowney is a one in a million player. He is, in fact, the best player ever to play the game in the state of South Carolina... He made the difference in most of their victories, and is the primary reason they beat us the last two years. The good news is, he has one more year and then he'll be gone. So we need to be careful about deciding the sky is falling just because they beat us out in recruiting Mr. Clowney. 2) If Mr. Clowney was a Clemson Tiger, he, and we, would be playing Notre Dame for the National Championship this year. No doubt we'd be undefeated and there's no way a 1 loss team gets to the NC game over an undefeated Clemson team. Just think about that for a minute or two, and recognize that being a big fish in a small pond is a lot more profitable in the long run than being a medium size fish in a big pond. Our path to the NC game every year is simple; we've got to beat Florida State, South Carolina and Virginia Tech. Describe South Carolina's path to the NC game any year. They'll have to beat Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and Clemson every year. Then they'll have to beat either Alabama, LSU, Texas A & M or Arkansas every year. Then, they'll very likely have to beat one of the four of these Western Division teams a second time to have any hope of playing for the national championship. In summary, "it ain't gonna happen." And you think we want to join in their misery for a few extra million dollars per year? I have every confidence the SEC will let Clemson in if we ask. They'd be crazy not to, and the first person to support us will be Steve Spurrier. His life will get lots easier by doing so, as we'll free up an "out of conference" slot so he can play another "cupcake." We just need to "ask," and come up with $50 million bucks. My recommendation is to come up with the $50 million bucks and use it to continue enhancing our facilities. Then stay in the ACC and recruit like crazy so we can dominate every year, as we have in years past. But that won't satisfy unless we learn to quit listening to all the garbage from gamecock fans. Misery loves company; and they've miserable right now. They know this is the best team they'll ever field, and it's only good for 4th place in the Conference. As much as I hate losing to the chickens, beating Clemson four years in a row only goes so far. Sure, they'll get 4th place rings again. But that is their destiny, and intelligent South Carolina fans are smart enough to know it. Things aren't nearly so bleak for the Tigers, so just be careful what you wish for. It may just happen and then you'll have to live with it, as South Carolina is. Go Tigers!

There is only one year left of two-team per conference ...

Nov 27, 2012, 9:10 AM

.. limit for BCS. When that ends, things will be open up significantly for SC and the SEC.

Nov 27, 2012, 9:33 AM [ in reply to Re: We are an 8-4 team in a horrible league. ]

This is laughable at best! With all the rats leaving the basketball conference it would be wise for cu to look to do the same. cu is not a basketball school but the a she she keeps bringing in only basketball oriented schools. with the playoff format starting, the limits the conferences have on BCS bowls will disappear and with the all cupcake league rapidly losing credibility while the conference realignments shifts the landscape of football, cu might end up fighting vt and free shoes u(if they stay) for the one bid.. which makes you what 2nd or 3rd in a pathetic conference?

So poke fun at us "coots" for fighting in the best league in college sports. The playoff system benefits the SEC, If you doubt that, take a look at the top 10 every year and count SEC schools versus a she she schools. Improve your facilities and remain a med to big fish in a small puddle outside the big pond of college athletics

So lets get this straight.

We join the Sec and we are the 6th or 7th best team in the league and everyone will be happy. I just cannot see all the hype for wanting to change leagues. We are one of the top 3 teams in the ACC and people are not happy. If we win our Ooc games next year and run the table in the ACC then we will be a BCS team. If we join the SEC it would be years before we went undefeated just look at SC they have won nothing but a division in the SEC and they have never played in a Major Bowl game.
