Obviously, the game started rough and the fake punt decision or call, unsure if it was called or not, but after shifting the OL around, the offense looks pretty smooth. Yes, GT's defense has been terrible. Tech gives up the yards but is top 15 in takeways. No issues with ball security and outside the fake punt, no turnovers.
Brown is really really good and could be the next Tee Higgins. Shipley looks the best he has since Duke. Beaux and Brinny have made great catches. Mafah is still brutalizing the defensive front, even if the holes for him are smaller. The hits he absorbs and the punishment he delivers is nasty.
But the biggest difference in the offense, is Klubnik's decision making. His rollouts are smooth. He has made good reads and outside of one throw over the middle to Brinny, he has seen the field well. He has thrown the ball away at the right times, pulled it down and ran well. His short throws are crisp and the fade to Brown for a TD was near perfect. His head first dive on the 3rd and 18 run was huge. After the interception, throwing it away and then the first down run oob to stop the clock, this is reminiscent of what he flashed against UNC in the ACCCG.
I don't know what changes were made, beyond shifting the OL, but IMHO, these are the best in-game adjustments I have seen in the last 3-4 years. Last week may have been a catalyst in restoring confidence but something has changed since the first two drives against Tech. Props to the players and staff.
Keep it up boys, wreck the heck out of tech. Shatter their hopes and dreams, hang 45+ on 'em and send the down 85 in utter disbelief and absolute silence.
