I think the GOR is to prevent one or two teams from leaving the ACC for greener pastures, not for a scenario like the total shakeup that's happening right now.
IMO it was put in place (led by the corrupt North Carolina basketball schools) to maintain the ACC being a predominantly basketball conference.
They invited all these former Big East (basketball) schools from the North and then proceeded to install the GOR. I don't think they'll get away with it.
On top of that, ESPN makes a deal with the ACC, then a few years later makes a deal for double the money for the SEC. The whole thing stinks too much to fly, IMO. The onus is on them, not Clemson, to fix it.
