for 3 hours from a mob that he riled up and does nothing before reluctantly calling off the dogs. What's the response from the resident Trumpkins on here?

he has a good point, why do republicans hate law enforcement? Ron DeSantis killed about 60 this year by signing a bill that prohibited mask and vaccine mandates at the local level. Sadly he is smarter than this but chose to play politics instead.

you are missing the point as usual, Desantis CHOSE to play politics instead of shooting down misinformation and requiring public workers to get vaccinated. He knew people would die as a result, yet he did nothing except push back against common-sense health ad safety measures because he was too busy pwning the libs.

You’re missing the point as usual. DeSantis believes in personal freedoms as well as vaccinating those that want it.

it was more of a one size fits all mandate for the state, being that there wasn't one, and local governments could not issue their own, he even signed a bill preventing that. He also threatened to fire school administrators that issued mask mandates, when that would not fly, he threatened to take money from their districts. He is smart enough of an attorney to know this would get shot down in the courts, but he put on a nice show anyway.

I don’t know of any POTUS who has done more harm to the country than Trump. I liked some of his policy…but the doubt he sowed in our democratic processes have created divides that I’m afraid will never be bridged. Anyone who still stands with him after all that we have witnessed is a traitor in my eyes. I think Rep Cheney said something to the effect of…you can defend the constitution or stand with Trump, but not both…pretty much sums it up.

I agree with you, believe it or not, but it has absolutely nothing to do with what happened 364 days ago.
Trump did do more harm than most Presidents. He sent money directly from the government to every single American citizen, no strings attached, no questions asked. That right there was a horrible ####### policy decision and one that sits up there with the worst. That's opened pandora's box to ultimately create this labor issue we have now, kick-started massive demand driven inflation, and planted the seed of UI. Makes me ####### sick. And he wanted to give them more!!!
He's up there with Wilson, Nixon, and Clinton IMO.
Y'all give the orange man way too much credit. "...the doubt he sowed in our democratic processes have created divides..." ... You serious w/ this ########? Where in the #### have you been for the past 40 years? Democracy? LOL.
Here's how our government works. Fed prints money. Street takes money, siphons off their cut, invests in Corporations. Corporations pay Politicians and shareholders their profits. You think some punk ### pleeb like me or you rowing this ############# boat has any say so with respect to what happens in this country? You think your vote has mattered? You think Donald Orangutan Trump did this? #### man...give me a break.
Did he exacerbate it amongst a bunch of mouth breathing morons who had no clue? Sure, I'll concede that. But he had nothing to do with architecting this façade of a government.
Go to work and pay your taxes like a good little rower. We got politicians to pay in Washington.
I know this is a thread about an irrelevant, hot topic issue that gets the ants fighting each other. So my apologies for interjecting here off topic.

I don’t necessarily disagree with you…perhaps I should have said he was the straw that broke democracy’s back based on his individual actions…not the least of which was convincing a whole slew of folks that they can’t trust election results. The institutional issues you list could keep us busy on this thread for weeks if not months. I’ll keep rowing for now but fair warning that I might bail at any minute.

How many riots were started by people who had a pep rally with the POTUS in the moments prior. I'll wait.

Easy answer: Trump knew the Libs would run with it as the 'most horribleist thing in history' !! and would use it to EMBARRASS themselves during a 12 month freak out over a non-insurrection! He set the trap and Pelosi jumped right in.
Pour Dems; never been accused of being smart!
Trump is laughing his butt off right now, as we Pubs do every day.

To your point they have no response.
They know he’s an autocratic dictator but stand behind him for one of two reasons
1) to not admit they’re wrong about him 2) they like that he’s a white Nationalist dictator

The problems Trump caused, if any, round to zero compared to the fundamental transformation the left is putting the nation through, or at least attempting to put the nation through. You have a beef with one person who is gone and are blind to the rest of what is happening.

Wow. What a remarkably honest answer.
The right can’t handle change. You want things to remain the same. You think “Pax Americana” will last forever. You think what we’ve done the past 50 years will be relevant the next 50.
Facts are this. Y’all clearly don’t recognize that the world is changing and swiftly. The majority of people in this world are not white, non catholic Christian’s. The rest of the world is catching up and 7b strong.
They aren’t monolithic either but they have a common enemy to go after. So we can sit an act the oppressors like we have for our 400 years of existence. Or we can recognize we need to change the way we operate to exist in this new world. Embrace our diversity. Embrace the change. Embrace the thoughts and ideas that the other 7b bring.
We can still be successful and relevant in this world but if we go down the Current republican plan we’ll be just another fallen empire footnote in history in the next 25 years.

Sigh. As usual you miss the point.
I have no problem with a healthy debate. I have no problem with compromise. I do have a problem when a vocal, militant minority attempt to strong arm themselves into power.
To date the GOP has no platform. None. No approach to health care. No approach to infrastructure. No approach to immigration. No approach to building the economy. Nothing.
Publish one and let’s debate IDEAS. I am not advocating the left is right on everything but at least they have the balls to stand behind something. Be nice if the right did so too.

News Flash:
Don't fret, you guys will be introduced to the Pub plan (to save America from fascist-socialists) in January of 2023. And the Republican POTUS (Nikki Haley) will lead this country out of the dark Side from 2024-2028. Mark it down.
Your delusions are a thing of Comedic Beauty. Keep it up; we need the laughs.
Joementia Sucks.
***UK-glad to have you back; will you continue to avoid discussing issues with me? Testosterone problem? Pity.

Why not now? Why wait a year? What’s stopping the GOP from doing it? Nothing.
Outside of the fact it’s easier to stand behind nothing and just attack and create drama. Complain about wokeness. Complain about socialism. Complain complain complain.
If you bloody want to make America great again, tell us how!

I know, it is about as bad as lifelong criminals fighting with police, putting innocent people at risk and then have a president side with criminals saying they were treated too harshly! What the heck?
