So, my understanding is there is like a 500 million dollar buyout. FSU supposedly has it negotated at $300 mill... My understanding is once someone leaves, the contract has to be renegotiated. So, what if, FSU decides to go for $300 million, but Clemson, Miami, etc say hey, we arent leaving, but now that FSU has left, we have to redo everything... oh, the buy out should now be 10 dollars.
Clemson, and the other 7, or whatever it was, now pay their $10 and also maybe throw FSU 20 million for breaking it. Now, all these teams essentially get to leave for $20,000,010.
On the flip side, I do not know if I would mind Clemson staying in the ACC and going back to a more student-athlete approach. Then I get to go to games again without spending a fortune (or mooching off McLovin) and all the Slade Pinkingtons leave.
That would be just fine with me.

I think it’s sad that so many mangers’ self worth is wrapped up in how great the football team is. It’s been great fun but I’m going to get priced out of my family’s tickets that go back to 1980 long before I would give them up because the team wasn’t playing for nattys every year.
That might make me not a real fan but I’ll put my love of the institution as a whole over their need for the football team to win any day.
(I must admit, losing the big three to the dirtpeckers last year has gnawed at me more than it should have, but hey, it’s the coots)

Being totally ignorant about the GoR is my problem. Most of the details are unknown. I doubt one talking head has read those documents so all our speculation is probably nonsense. However, it's downtime and you I ain't got no job so...
It seems practical to think that if one team leaves the conference and the GoR is a package type deal it would be void or easily broken. Not knowing if there is some sort of exclusionary clause means my opinion is void or easily dismissed. Heck, without understanding the GoR completely we can't know if there is any legal precedence for such.
Did I use enough big words to make you think I know what I'm talking about? I I did, you'd be mistaken.

at ACC headquarters. I'm not even joking. That explains why there are so few details on the situation. I think (but I'm not sure) that the GOR is a separate document/agreement from the tv contract.
I'm with you. I'd rather move back to a more traditional model. I have no interest in Clemson-branded pro football.

All those Wynkoop condos on college avenue will still be there, whether Clemson plays football, or not.
The toothpaste is out of the tube on this one.

saying that we can stop pushing on the tube.
The choice to prioritize money over everything else is just that, a choice. And it is a choice that, in the long run, is going to kill a great tradition.

They let one desirable school leave and they are basically killing the league.
